Praise Rock

Thanks Mom for the Prasie Rock, it will always be special.
Luke 19:40 And He answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace (praise), the stones would immediately cry out.

Today I have been working on a path thur my house finding new homes for new things and restoring old things to their original homes. Christmas was great, a good time was had by all. We are definitely blessed. Ate way to much, took lots of pictures. Lots of reminiscing, missing love ones that have passed on and enjoying those that are here.

Tuesday before Christmas and down on the Lane.....

Today is busy busy here on the Lane.
Nan and Mom have gone to do some last minute shopping while I slave here at home still on the baking spree.  Ok, so maybe I didn't "slave" all morning.  I have got some accomplished.
More truffles, this afternoon I plan to whip up some homemade caramel corn, yummy!!
I went this morning for a little pampering, getting my hair and eyebrows done.
I met up and had lunch with my bestie.
Barry is delivering mail, Keith is working.
Dave is in cleaning mode and decided on this cool day he would clean out the shed.
Josh is waiting on the arrival of Aunt Barb.  Hopefully today she could make it out.
They were lucky and LOTS of snow.

Hope you all are well on your way to Christmas as well.
Are you ready yet??

Fall Break just in time for surgery!

Wow! This week has gone by fast, Mom's surgery was Tuesday and it was a great success. The good Lord saw to it that she didn't have any pain and she was looked after by Sister in law Barb. It was Barb to the rescue, and to enjoy family time and food. Mom, Barb and I cooked Friday, WOW another meal in the kitchen of Aunt Maxine. Turkey and the works. Hunter also had a birthday party and enjoyed it greatly. Barb has gone home and Dave has returned from Okla. on business and Keith is back from Davidson, NC. Barry and I enjoyed Court Days in Flemingsburg today, short and sweet. Next weekend it will be court days in Mt. Sterling. Well it's back to the grindstone tomorrow. Thank You Jesus!

Family

My Birthday At Nannies

The 10Th was my 52Nd birthday and Mom said to make no plans because she was cooking for me (and by the looks of the table when she was complete an army also). So all of you that have sat at my mom's table before you know you missed quite a meal. Fried chicken, corn on the cob, gravy, green beans, salad, tomatoes, deviled eggs, are you hungry yet. So you see the list goes on. Dave had to work late and so did Keith, sorry about your luck boys, there is always the microwave. I had a wonderful birthday! I enjoyed spending time with my family. They are what makes my world go around. Barry even bought me flowers (2 beautiful mums).

Sharing Nannie

Maria has allowed me to blog with her about the happenings on Petticoat Lane. So as you see I am doing my practice run. Here is a picture of Nan doing what she loves best working in the kitchen. At one time or another all that know her have set at her table for a meal and not been disappointed.

With a cup of coffee in hand

I sit here on the porch swing. It's a beautiful day here on Petticoat Lane. Sun is shining through the hill tops. They say it's going to be a high of 87. Finally the middle of August and we start having summer like weather. It's been a weird summer where weather is concerned. The garden here on Petticoat Lane didn't fare so well this year.
Been a busy week this week with everyone back to work. Caroline said they only managed to lose 2 kids here the first week of school, got on the wrong bus. Then they were fortunate enough to gain a kid. She didn't speak any English other than her name, which was Kennedy. Said it took them some time to figure out which school she was suppose to be at. Not seen or heard from Keith since he started back to school this week. Busy boy he is when school starts with the Sports Med program.
Dave went back to school this week too! They had him on a rooftop at a High School in Corbin. Trying to make sure he could get those teenie boppers cooled off. hehe.
Barry had the alternator go out in his mail vehicle. Frustrating I know.
Other excitement here on Petticoat Lane is we have new neighbors. They finished with the renovations of the block house and moved in. Instead of 4 bedrooms and 1 bath, it is a 3 bedroom with 2 bath. They added central heat and air along with new windows. The Mr. & Mrs. has two little girls and two dogs.
Yesterday Caroline came by Aunt Maxine's and brought her home with her for the day. They started the day off with breakfast. My what a spread these people put on. Doesn't it seem like the best families sit around the table and know how to make the best food?? Aunt Maxine needs to get some recipes on here soon.

I think I just got a whiff of Maria fixin' breakfast. My my it sure smells good. I think I best go see, and then be off to church. Come on over and she'll feed ya I'm sure. Cooks for an army like her Nannie. Then off to church we'll be...

1st Sitting Spell

Glad you are able to come by and sit on the porch a spell. It's a humid Saturday morning here on Petticoat Lane. Everyone is busy today, cause it's Saturday of course. Caroline and Maria are both (suppose to be) cleaning house. Barry is out in the yard working on getting the lawn mower tire on. Keith has gone to workout those football players at the college. Dave is putting Maria in a spicket out front and Aunt Maxine well she's puttering around the yard this morning.
Busy morning here on the the Lane, but have ya some tea, or maybe your coffee for the morning and we'll talk about what's happened here this week.......

It's been a busy week here. Caroline has gone back to work. School is getting ready to start back and she is getting prepared for all her little fun ones. She and Barry faired well this week after their long two week vacation out east. Pictures will be posted soon of their trip.

Keith finished his last week at Hardee's before college starts back up. Today is his first day back at Sports Med with the football team. Hopefully they won't be too rough on him. haha.

Aunt Maxine, she and Josh have been doctoring this week. She's had a scan on her kidneys. Everything is fine for now. They will check her again in 6 months. Dr changed her medicines around a little. She has been retaining too much fluid.

Brian was by earlier this week helping Aunt Maxine get her stuff back in the trailer after her big clean out she was doing. He made it two days in a row and we were all surprised. He is more of a "no show jones" haha.
